About

I am a performance and spoken word artist who keeps her ideas in an old shoe box and sometimes publishes and performs them…

Thought Box is an idea I stole from Paul Auster’s character in the book Brooklyn Follies. The character is a retired and divorced man who decides to move to Brooklyn and rent a flat there as he has enough money to cover his rent and a comfortable lifestyle until his days run out.

Soon the monotony of eating out in cafes and spying on a certain young waitress gets to him and he decides to embark on a meaningful project and write a book. Not knowing where to start, he starts by jotting his thoughts and memories down at any given moment they arise, on napkins, cigarette boxes, old bank statements… These he then gathers in an old shoe box – his Thought Box.

This idea amused me so much that shortly after finishing the book, I set up my own Thought Box. But in order to have the Thought Box serve some kind of purpose, I decided to bring the scraps of paper together to form the contents of this blog.
